Duo Scarlatti will be performing a concert on March 22, 2017 at St. Angela Hall, followed by dinner at Nico Ristorante.

Duo Scarlatti consists of Nicola Pignatiello and Daniele Sardone, two of the youngest teachers of the Conservatorio S. Cecilia in Rome. They have been awarded first prizes at several international competitions.

After graduating in Italy, studying with Domenico Ascione, they moved to Holland to study with Carlo Marchione at the Conservatorium Maastricht. They finished their course Master of Music cum laude.

Duo Scarlatti had is international debut playing in Spain in the Encuentro Internacional Ciudad de Majadahonda together with other artists, among which were Eduardo Fernandez and Margarita Escarpa. In April 2014 the Duo made their first tour in the USA playing in New York, Pittsburgh and Cleveland, premiering works of the most important guitar composers. They returned in 2015 and 2016 for concerts at NYU and Carnegie Mellon.

The Duo is regularly invited to participate in the most important festivals like Festival of Aalborg, Brescia Chitarra, Claxica, Cervia Luigi Legnani, Festival Internazionale di Roma, and to play for institutions in some of the principal cities of Europe: Bruxelles, Koln, Helsinki, Maastricht, Bologna, Copenhagen and Amsterdam. Duo Scarlatti also recorded for the Dutch Televisions Lumburg Tv and Brava NL.

Their repertoire consists of original music for two guitars, mostly of the twentieth century, and baroque music for cembalo transcribed by the Duo. New music has been written for Duo Scarlatti by such well-known composers as Dusan Bogdanovic, Maurizio Pisati, Simone Iannarelli, Gianluca Cascioli, Mark Del Priora.
